How many students are in each class?

Pre-kindergarten has 12 students in a class providing for individualized instruction and a strong classroom community.

How can parents get involved?

Parents are both positive and productive partners in the Shining Cross Academy experience. You will have the opportunity to share your time, talents and expertise in a myriad of ways that can be found on our volunteer tab.

What is the sibling policy?

Qualified siblings will be considered first in admissions decisions for the following year.  If multiple siblings are attending at the same time, your family will receive a 10% discount on tuition.

How do we visit Shining Cross Academy?

There are plenty of opportunities to visit Shining Cross Academy. We offer informational tours throughout the year and also host a wide range of community events that are open to the public.

Does my child need to be toilet trained?

Yes, your child does need to be toilet trained and attend school in underpants.  However, we do understand that accidents do happen, so we encourage you to  send extra clothes to preschool with your child should an accident occur.

How old does my child need to be to attend?

Children need to be 3 - 5 years old to attend Shining Cross Academy.

What are your school's hours?

We have a range of hours for the programs we offer.  Our school is open from 7:30am - 5:30pm.  School programming for the full-day session is from 8:30am - 3:00pm.  Our half-day program is from 8:30am -12:30pm. We offer before and after care for an additional price.

Does your school have a religious component?

Your child’s spiritual development is fostered through the unconditional love and support they receive from our staff and pastors through prayer, songs, stories and recognition of creation and God’s blessings. Children and their families (if families choose to attend) attend chapel twice a month. Time in chapel includes short stories, songs and prayer.
